Cohort-Based Schedule for TypeWell Training
Starting in Spring 2025, TypeWell is implementing a more structured Basic Skills Course schedule. We now organize new trainees into two annual training cohorts, based on their individual start dates:
- Summer Cohort: Start dates from late April through late May
- Fall Cohort: Start dates from late August through late September

Within each cohort window, candidates still train independently and progress through the course on their own. This is not a group-based or interactive class; the term “cohort” is simply a way for our team to organize internal support and ensure that candidates are on track to finish before key academic start dates.
Most candidates complete the Basic Skills Course in 2–3 months. These cohort windows are designed to align with common hiring timelines so that qualified transcribers are ready to begin work at the start of the Fall and Winter academic terms.
