DEIA Commitment

Our Commitment to Accessibility & Inclusion

TypeWell stands with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)—but inclusion is not complete without accessibility (DEIA).

Accessibility is not a privilege; it is a fundamental necessity for an equitable society. DEI measures ensure that people with disabilities can fully participate in classrooms, workplaces, and public life—not as exceptions, but as valued and essential contributors. Their perspectives, ideas, and leadership are critical to the success of institutions, communities, and democracy itself.

Yet, increasingly, political and institutional efforts seek to diminish the presence and awareness of marginalized groups by limiting resources, defunding vital programs, restricting access, silencing voices, and erasing the language of inclusion. These attacks on democracy and civil rights are not just political decisions—they are acts of exclusion that harm all of us.

We resist these efforts and stand in solidarity with the disability community in demanding full participation in both education and society. The professionals we train—transcribers and other human service providers—commit their careers to making communication accessible, not just as a profession, but because they believe in the power of inclusion.

TypeWell remains dedicated to breaking down communication barriers, defending the right to be seen and heard, and advocating for the institutional support that makes full participation possible for all.
