Refresher Course
If you trained as a TypeWell transcriber in the past, but have not been transcribing regularly in the last 2 years, you must pass the refresher course before providing TypeWell services again.
The refresher course will bring your transcribing skills back.
The refresher course covers the same material as the regular training course, although at a reduced price.
This refresher course is available only for TypeWell transcribers who have previously passed the training course, and costs $200 rather than the $400 of the full training course.
If you trained prior to September 2006, you'll find the new online training system to be more fun and convenient than when you previously trained.
In addition you'll discover new material that will improve your skills rather than just restoring them.
The online training system allows you to proceed quickly through areas where your skills have not deteriorated.
However, it's safest to plan on the course taking you the full time specified in the preregistration.
If you do proceed faster you'll have saved some time, but many refreshers find they want or need to spend extra time to touch up their skills.
To take this refresher training course, do the training pre-registration below.
Sign up like any new training candidate and proceed through the typing tests and the 15-minute registration process.
When you get to the payment page, stop there and contact us by email and identify yourself by name.
We'll verify in our records that you've previously passed a training course, and will then send you information for paying the lower $200 refresher course fee by credit card.
Ready to Pre-register?
If you are ready to take the training, the first step of pre-registration is to take our automated sample 3-minute typing test.
This will show if your skills are close to what's required for the training course.
If you pass the sample test, we'll set up your free pre-registration account, will tell you more about the training, and will have you take the full 5-minute typing test.
Be warned!
This is a hard test!
Even if you get high scores like 75 words per minute on some other typing tests, you might fail this one.
That's because this test includes numbers, dates, names, and many multisyllabic words.
This is representative of the kind of typing you would have to do as a transcriber.
Please note, what you are about to take is only a sample test.
After passing this sample test, you will have to continue on to the pre-registration process to take the full typing test.
