What's the process for becoming a TypeWell transcriber?
Qualify & Apply
- Create an account for free to complete the online course application.
Review our online training program schedule and syllabus.
Take screening tests for required skills and aptitudes.
Train
- Pay the course fee and choose a course start date within 1-12 weeks.
Complete the Basic Skills Course over 2-3 months.
Earn your TypeWell service qualification.
Work
- License a copy of the TypeWell Transcribing software.
Begin providing real-time transcribing services.

What are the necessary skills to succeed in the training?

- Typing speed of 60+ word per minute (WPM) without errors
Good listening and memory abilities

- Transcribing involves intensive typing! Individuals with a history
of arm or wrist pain are at higher risk for repetitive motion injury.If you experience pain during the course, your course will be paused
so you can consult with a medical professional.

What's covered in the free online application?
- Review the course overview and cost
- Complete the typing speed test:
minimum 60 WPM with no errors
(can be retaken after 30 days) - Review course schedule and requirements
- Complete a listening and memory screening
- Complete an English grammar screening

What happens once I'm accepted into the course?
- Pay the non-refundable course fee to enroll.
- You’ll then receive enrollment emails with registration instructions,
mailing information for course materials, and a signed waiver and information sheet. - You’ll choose a course start date of one week to three months in the future.
- Materials include a workbook and software installation instructions,
arriving by mail a day or two before your start date.

What are the costs and payment options?
Upon acceptance into the course, pay the $899 registration fee to enroll.
Payment plans are available with a $200 down payment.
Financial assistance is available for lower-income candidates (documentation required).

How will I be supported during and after the training?
- TypeWell emails you (and your sponsor, if applicable) with course information,
performance updates, test scores, and individualized feedback. - You’ll have a dedicated TypeWell teacher available to you,
both during and after the training. - You should arrange for potential technical support needs in advance,
but we’re happy to help by phone or email. - Unlike our competitors, TypeWell offers a warm and welcoming community
with opportunities for mentorship and networking.

What's the process for finding additional employment opportunities after I'm trained?
- There are many opportunities to work as a freelance transcriber, on-site or remotely.
