Announcing TypeWell Everywhere!
We're delighted to announce an exciting and unique new TypeWell product, TypeWell Everywhere™!
With TypeWell Everywhere you can use TypeWell abbreviations in any program on a Windows computer.
Now you can type faster whenever you use your computer, rather than just while transcribing!
This product is available only to graduates of the TypeWell transcribing course.
TypeWell Everywhere has two benefits.
First, you're finally free to "TypeWell" all the time.
Accelerate all your typing with the same typing speed-ups you use when transcribing.
No more hitting a "speed bump" when you finish transcribing and switch to other programs.
Second, with Everywhere you get automatic practice.
All day long, every email, report, and text message you write is now another chance to keep your TypeWell abbreviation skills sharp.
All that practice will boost your comfort and speed when you fire up TypeWell for transcribing.
How It Works
TypeWell Everywhere is a completely separate program from "regular" TypeWell, and sits silently in the Windows system tray.
Pressing a special key activates it within any program, then you just type normally.
TypeWell Everywhere will invisibly watch and expand your abbreviations as you type.
Works Everywhere
What do we mean when we say it works "Everywhere"?
That means that it works with every program on your Windows 7, XP or Vista computer.
It doesn't work on Apple computers.
It doesn't work on PDAs or cell phones.
But on your Windows computer, it works everywhere, with every program.
For instance, Everywhere lets you use TypeWell abbreviations to write a report in Microsoft Word, or to blast out emails in Outlook email or webmail, or even just to text-chat with friends in AIM or Google Chat.
Your friends will wonder how you suddenly started typing so much faster.
What makes TypeWell Everywhere special is the convenience.
Maybe you, like us, have written a long email or report in the past by typing it in TypeWell Transcriber and then copying it to email or Word.
That was better than nothing, but it was too inconvenient to do on any but the longest documents.
If you're like us, what you really wanted was to just type "j" in any program, any time, and have it expand to "the" without any muss or fuss.
Now you can!
TypeWell Everywhere is so smoothly integrated with Windows that you'll find yourself using it everywhere you type, for even the shortest messages.
You may never have to type the slow way again!
The first question we get about this new technology is, how is this possible?
It seems too good to be true.
How can we add TypeWell abbreviations to all those other programs?
Think of it as an upgrade for your keyboard, rather than for each separate program.
TypeWell Everywhere software works with the Windows keyboard to enhance your whole system, not just a few programs.

Not for Transcribing
TypeWell Everywhere is designed for everyday typing rather than for transcribing.
To start with, Everywhere doesn't provide important transcribing features like linking and Math.
It also does not support transcribing abbreviations such as speaker identifiers.
Furthermore, although Everywhere is very cool and effective for abbreviating words in other programs, other programs don't have all the other features of TypeWell Transcriber for getting the absolute top speed from your keyboard.
The bottom line is that Everywhere is a great product for accelerating your typing all day long in Windows.
But for transcribing, you need the many big and small specialized features that TypeWell Transcriber provides.
Two Great Choices
Because Everywhere is a more personal product that is not designed for transcribing work, we wanted the price to be within reach of a personal budget.
The starter version is called "Everywhere Mini" and leaves out a few features, but costs only $80.
This is less than half the price of any other product with TypeWell abbreviations!
TypeWell Everywhere Mini still has the 200,000-word dictionary, and it still works in every program.
The Standard version of Everywhere costs $160, and includes the full PAL capability you're used to from TypeWell Transcriber so you can add custom abbreviations.
The lack of the PAL makes Mini a great deal for people who don't miss that feature.
But with the PAL, you can do some great additional things.
For instance, with the PAL in Everywhere Standard, you can make several different signature lines for yourself in emails, triggered by quick abbrs like "sig", "sig2", "sigbiz."
Or, you can make "form responses" if there's a common sentence you often use in emails.
For instance you could make "nojks" expand to your standard "Thanks, but no thanks" polite response.
And of course the main advantage of the PAL is that you can type faster by adding new custom abbreviations to personalize the system.
Some transcribers can't do without their own customizations like kp->keep, or shortcuts for their friend's names.
Furthermore, the Standard version includes a new TypeWell feature, automatic accent marks on common foreign words.
For example, type snrta and Everywhere Standard will expand it to señorita.
One caveat: some older Windows programs, more than 10 years old, may not accept symbols.
But most newer programs work with Everywhere to allow convenient typing of these special words.
